Pandemonium broke out on Tuesday morning after after an explosion rocked the densely populated Terminus market area in Jos, the Plateau state capital.
Unconfirmed reports say that several people were injured in the blast with an unspecified number of casualties.
The extent of the damage remains unclear but witnesses described scenes of destruction and chaos.
Emergency services, including the police, fire department, and ambulance teams, reportedly rushed to the scene to provide assistance.
The Plateau State Police Command is yet to comment on the incident.
