An endangered leatherback sea turtle measuring over 5ft in length was caught in a fisherman’s net in Bayelsa State.
The team members of the Safe Earth Foundation were informed after which they swung into action.
The sea turtle has however been released back into the ocean at Opu-Okumbiri in Akassa Clan of the State.
It is believed that there are less than 40,000 leatherback sea turtle left in the world.
