Billionaire and owner of Twitter, Elon Musk has announced former NBCUniversal executive Linda Yaccarino as the new Chief Executive Officer,CEO of Twitter.
Musk made the announcement in a series of tweets on Friday,
“I am excited to welcome Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter”@LindaYacc will focus primarily on business operations, while I focus on product design & new technology.
“Looking forward to working with Linda to transform this platform into X, the everything app,” he wrote on the micro-blogging site.
The new Twitter CEO was the global head of advertising and partnerships at NBC.
Similarly, Yaccarino also announced her resignation from NBCUniversal on Friday morning, just a day after Musk revealed that he had hired a new, female CEO for the social media platform without naming her at the time.
Yaccarino’s appointment comes as the platform has been in turmoil, with mass resignations and some companies pausing advertising, since the Musk acquisition in October.
