The Nigerian entertainment industry opened the ember months with Bam Bam, a new wave-making single by Soulaar, the newest revelation in the Afrobeat music genre.

Soulaar who was recently unveiled by Ejoya, a music marketing firm, is a hugely talented artiste, highly distinguished by lyrical flourish, poetic relish and refreshing rhythms, largely influenced by contemporary realities.

In a concise press release, Ejoya describes Soulaar as the next superstar: “Soulaar is a multi-faceted artist with a background in technology.

A loverboy at heart and a poet with his lyricism, Soulaar’s music captures wanton emotions, vulnerability, and boyhood dreams of falling in love in a world where love is transactional and money controls human affection”

The statement further describes Soulaar’s music, which draws inspiration from contemporary Afrobeats pioneers, as “surrounded by the eclectic uptempo basslines of Afrobeats but is anchored by his vulnerability.

On groove-inducing party starters, the multi-talented artist bares his pain and life lessons”

With a captivating rhythmic quality and rich poetic cadences, Soulaar’s debut single, Bam Bam, dwells on the transactional nature of love in Nigeria.

His message is clear and its delivery, unequivocal.

It rings out like Gwen Guthrie’s timeless song, _No Romance Without Finance_which was released in 1986.

In Bam Bam, Soulaar relives his encounter with a gold digger, incorporating the conversations and consequent compromises.

It is a love story, closer to reality than illusion of emotions.

Meanwhile, Soulaar ‘s promotional billboards have taken over Lagos and major cities in Africa as Ejoya continues to push the new artiste in the consciousness of music lovers.
