The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday, complied to the order of Justice Olukayode Adeniyi of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory and produced the embattled former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Godwin Emefiele in court.
Justice Adeniyi had on Monday reiterated his November 2 order directing the anti-corruption commission to either release Emefiele unconditionally immediately or produce him in court to be granted bail.
Emefiele who has been in the custody of the Federal Government security agencies for over 150 days was brought to Court accompanied by a retinue of EFCC operatives providing security around him.
Dressed in a yellow Kaftan and a cap, the former CBN Governor arrived at the courtroom at about 12:30 pm.
