The Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi has joined the list of Govenors who had tested positive to Covid -19.
Umahi in a statement signed by him says some of his close aides have also tested positive to the novel coronavirus. He confirmed that they have all gone into self-isolation going by the NCDC protocols despite not showing signs and symptoms of having the virus.
He appealed to the people of Ebonyi state to take the NCDC protocols more seriously while stating that he’s working from home and will conduct all meetings virtually .The Governor has however asked the Deputy Governor, Kelechi Igwe, to take over the frontline coordination of the state’s fight against the pandemic to protect the people of Ebonyi.
Recent figures indicate that Ebonyi recorded at least 438 cases of the virus, as of Friday evening, three have died while 357 persons have been successfully treated and discharged
