The Deputy State Chairman of the party, Alphonsus Nwali, who was the Chairman of the electoral committee for the Council’s primary election, declared the younger Umahi as the winner of the primary election.

Mr Nwali commended the people of Ohaozara for their support to the party in previous national and state elections.

He promised that the party will continue to be transparent and will strive to bring up leaders who will deliver dividends and development to the people.

In his acceptance speech, Mr Osborne Umahi promised that his administration will aim at massive road infrastructure development.

He said he will build roads that will connect the farmlands and the markets to make for easy evacuation of produce.

He also promised to come up with policies that will empower the youths.

The minister for Works, David Umahi, thanked the President for appointing him as Minister.

He also thanked Governor Francis Nwifuru for nominating his son, Osborne, for the Chairmanship position.

He assured the people that Osborne Umahi will keep to the promises he made to the people.

“I align myself with his programme of opening all the roads in the villages, roads to the fram lands and the markets. He will establish agric clusters and empower the youths”.

“He will come up with programmes that will ensure that all Ohaozara youths are gainfully employed. He will show leadership and the leadership of Ohaozara under him is going to be better and the people will be proud of him”, he said.

He called on the people of the Southeast to continue to appreciate President Bola Tinubu, noting that the President has tackled all the issues of neglect that led to agitations for Biafra.
