He said the idea behind facilitating the transport project was to ease the problem of transportation within the senatorial district and across Kano state, and also empower the people.

The 107 buses, single-handedly purchased by Senator Jubrin were made available to beneficiaries at a highly subsidized rate, under hire-purchase scheme.

The direct beneficiaries of the project are members of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) across all the Local Government Areas in Kano North senatorial district.

The launching of the 107 buses which took place at the new Bichi Stadium, along Gwarzo Road, Bichi town, attracted a mammoth crowd who were pouring praises on Senator Jubrin for the kind gesture.

An official of NURTW, Malam Rabi’u Bichi who spoke to our Correspondent at the venue of the event described the gesture as first of its kind by any politician in Kano.

“Senator Jubrin has made us proud. His empowerment programmes always have positive impact on the masses. You can imagine how many families that will benefit directly from this initiative.

“You can also agree with me that the launching of these 107 buses will go a long way to easing the challenges of transportation in Kano North and the entire Kano state.

“We are praying to God to keep blessing Senator Jubrin because of the way he keep empowering not only people from Kano state, but everybody in Kano. We do hope that other politicians will follow his foot-steps,” he said.
