The monarch said the Commission remains Nigeria’s brightest hope in tackling the menace of corruption that has stunted the nation’s development.

“You (EFCC) is the only hope in this country and because of that, people don’t want you to succeed. They will continue to frustrate you. We will try as traditional rulers to play our roles”, he said.

Earlier in his remark, the Acting Zonal Director said he was in the palace to seek the support and blessings of his Royal Majesty in the fight against economic and financial crimes in the state.

He said on his deployment to Benin, he felt it was important to seek the support of the royal fathers as custodians of culture and tradition of the people.

He pleaded with the royal father to join hands with the Commission in its effort to tackle economic and financial crimes especially internet fraud.

“We have come to seek your blessings and support, We know with your support we will succeed.’

He pleaded with the king to use his position to speak against internet fraud which he said was detrimental to the future of Nigeria youths and the country.

Okim also paid a visit to the Nigeria Navy Ship Delta NNS Delta, Warri, to strengthen existing collaboration and partnership in dealing with illegal oil bunkering in the state. Commodore MY Abba, Commander NNS Delta who received him pledged the support of Nigerian Navy to the Commission in the discharge of its mandate.
