The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has condemned the killing of its Ethiope East Local Government Area Vice Chairman, Mr. Ese Idisi, describing his death as brutal, shocking and devastating.

In a statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo, the party, led by its chairman Elder Omeni Sobotie, expressed deep sorrow over the incident and extended heartfelt condolences to the family of the late party chieftain.

According to the statement, Mr. Idisi, who hailed from Ward 4 in Ethiope East, was a loyal and dependable party man whose contributions significantly advanced the APC’s growth in the area. His death, the party said, has left a painful void within the APC and the wider community.

The party called on the police and other security agencies to conduct a full-scale, professional investigation to uncover and arrest the perpetrators, sponsors, and anyone connected to the “cruel and senseless murder.”

The statement reads: “The All Progressives Congress (APC), Delta State, under the chairmanship of Elder Omeni Sobotie, expresses profound sorrow, shock, and devastation over the brutal and condemnable killing of Mr. Ese Idisi, the Vice Chairman of the Party in Ethiope East Local Government Area.

“First and most importantly, Delta APC extends its deepest, heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the late Mr. Idisi. His tragic passing has left a painful void – not only in his home and community – but also within the APC family in Ethiope East Ward 4. Mr. Idisi was a loyal, committed and a dependable party man who contributed immensely to the growth of the Party in Ethiope East.

“His death is not just a loss; it is a heavy blow that has plunged the Party into mourning. Delta APC mourns with his family, friends, political associates, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing and working with him. We pray that God grants his loved ones the strength to bear this heartbreaking loss, and we stand in solidarity with them during this deeply distressing and painful period.

“As a Party, we fully align with security agencies and reaffirm our unwavering commitment to ensuring that justice is served. We therefore call on the Police and other security agencies to carry out a thorough, uncompromising, and professional investigation into this cruel and senseless murder. The perpetrators, sponsors, and anyone connected to this heinous act must be identified, apprehended, and brought to justice without delay. Nothing short of a full-scale investigation will suffice in the prevailing circumstances.

“Furthermore, Delta APC categorically rejects suggestions in certain quarters that the murder of Mr. Idisi has political colouration or internal party undertones. Such insinuations are false, reckless, and capable of inflaming tensions at a time when sobriety, unity, and respect for due process are most needed.

“It is deeply disappointing that unfounded claims of this nature are being promoted while the family is in mourning and security agencies are still conducting investigations. No responsible individual rushes to judgment or makes inflammatory, premature assertions without verifiable facts. Such conduct is irresponsible and constitutes a disservice to the memory of the deceased.

“The Party strongly cautions leaders, stakeholders, and members against making speculative, sensational, or politically motivated statements capable of misleading the public or disrupting the peace within the Party. At a time like this, what is required is restraint, decorum, and strict adherence to verified information.

“Delta APC is enjoying a renewed atmosphere of peace, unity, and internal cohesion under the stabilizing leadership of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori. We will not allow unguarded comments or reckless conjecture to undermine the progress achieved so far.

“The Party urges all members to remain calm, focused, and disciplined. Our collective priority at this moment must be to support the ongoing investigation, stand firmly with the bereaved family, and ensure that justice is pursued to its logical conclusion.

“Delta APC remains resolute in its commitment to the rule of law, to the protection of its members, and to the strengthening of the Party across Delta State”.
