The Dangote Refinery has suspended all self-collection gantry sales of premium motor spirit.

The 650,000-barrel-per-day refinery disclosed this in an email to customers on Thursday.

It stated that the suspension is to take effect from Thursday, September 18th, 2025.

“We wish to inform you that, effective 18th September 2025, Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE (DPRP) has placed all self-collection gantry sales on hold until further notice.

“In light of this development, we kindly request that all payments related to active PFIs for self-collections are also placed on hold until further notice. Please note that any payment made after this date will not be honoured,” Dangote Refinery stated in the email to customers.

The directive follows the oil firm’s recent face-off with the Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers of Nigeria and the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG.

Recall that last week Thursday, Dangote Refinery had announced a gantry price of N820 per litre as it began its fuel distribution scheme nationwide.

DAPPMAN, NUPENG and other stakeholders had kicked against the initiative, describing it as monopolistic.

Meanwhile, Dangote Refinery had dismissed DAPPMAN’s claim, alleging the association demanded a N1.5 trillion fuel subsidy. The refinery allegation had been refuted by DAPPMAN, saying that the oil firm favours foreign offtakers of its petrol products, neglecting Nigerian marketers.
