Kaduna State Government has ordered the closure of all schools in the State by Wednesday, 16th December,2020 due to the rising cases of COVID-19 in the state.
This was contained in a statement from the State Ministry of Education signed by the Commissioner,Shehu Muhammad on Tuesday.
The Commissioner said the decision to close schools was to help reduce the spread of the virus .
He said even though COVID19 cut across all ages report shows that the new wave affect those between the ages of 19-35 which forms a majority of the populace in the education sector.
Muhammed added that physical classes will also not hold in tertiary Institutions during the period of closure.
He instructed all tertiary Institutions in the state to make other arrangements for teaching and learning while students in basic,post basic and secondary school can continue with online learning.
The Commissioner however called on the public to continue to embrace all COVID-19 protocols including wearing of facemasks,avoiding large gatherings, social distancing among others.
