A 6.4 magnitude earthquake, on Tuesday, shook some parts of Northern California, United States.
The earthquake, recorded at 2:34am local time, reportedly hit at a depth of 10 miles near Eureka in Humboldt County.
Samantha Karges, spokesperson of the Humboldt County sheriff’s department disclosed that no major injuries or damages were recorded.
However, thousands of persons were said to have been affected by power outages.
The sheriff’s office also announced that no tsunami is expected as a result of the earthquake, and asked residents to desist from calling 911 except in cases of immediate emergency.
“Magnitude 6.4 #earthquake 14 miles from Fortuna. Power is out across the county. DO NOT CALL 911 UNLESS YOU ARE EXPERIENCING AN IMMEDIATE EMERGENCY,” the office tweeted.
