Viewers of Big Brother Naija Season 10 went into panic mode on Friday night when the live broadcast was suddenly interrupted and went off air.
In a statement, organisers MultiChoice Nigeria explained that the disruption was caused by a power issue.
After being off air for about two hours, they assured fans that the housemates were “safe and sound” despite the blackout.
“We’re currently experiencing a temporary break in Big Brother Naija transmission due to a power issue. Rest assured, the housemates are safe and sound.
“Our technical team is working swiftly to restore power and normal service. Thank you for your patience. Grab a snack, stretch your legs. We’ll be back serving premium entertainment shortly!” the statement reads.
The interruption immediately sparked online discussion, with viewers expressing both concern and anticipation for the quick return of the broadcast
The live broadcast went off at about 2 p.m. West African Time, and since then, efforts to resume transmission have proved abortive. Instead, viewers have been seeing recycled snippets of past events in the house as well as advertisements
