Bauchi State Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed on Thursday signed a one billion US dollar Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IHP Capital for investment in education and health sectors particularly, construction of 250 bed teaching hospital to be affiliated with a UK based University.

Speaking shortly after signing the MoU at Council Chambers, Government House, Bauchi, Governor Bala Mohammed described the development as a move towards providing lasting solutions to the challenges in critical sectors of health and education .

He assured that the state government will do everything possible to protect the investment as the agreement will assist in developing health and education sectors as well as employment opportunity to citizens of the state.

The Governor directed Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) assigned to implement the MoU to work as a team for effective implementation and maximal benefit as well as qualitative healthcare services to the people of the State at an affordable rate.

“Today I am highly fulfilled as a leader of Bauchi state that my effort to provide solution to healthcare and education in the state is working. IHP Capital is a household name in terms of investment in education and health and they are bringing huge investment to our dear state.”

Governor Bala Mohammed noted that, his administration has since keyed into the federal government’s ease of doing business drive which has assisted the state to strengthen its investment opportunities.

Earlier, the Managing Director of IHP Capital company, Mr Vandishwar Kansal, commended the state government for providing enabling environment for the company to implement and promised to support him to achieve his vision for the state.

The Managing Director, assured Governor Bala Mohammed that with the signing of the agreement, the firm will work on implementation including the proposed construction of 2500 staff accommodation to international standards and 5 star hotel among others.
