Bauchi State Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has presented a 2023 Budget estimate of N202.6b before the Bauchi State House of Assembly.
Speaking at the complex of the Assembly, Mohammed said the budget which tagged “Budget of accomplishment and renewed committed”, covers 87,923,242,963.50 million naira representing 43% for recurrent expenditure while capital expenditure received the sum of 114,718,515,650.97.
Bala Mohammed said the 2023 budget has been predicated on the assumption of oil production of 1.5 million barrels per day and it is about 2.6% higher than that of the 2022 which could be attributed to rising inflationary trends.
He appreciated the massive contributions, support and synergy of the leadership of the House and members to his administration, saying the budget was proposed based on the taxes expenditure and will complete the ongoing developmental projects being executed under his watch.
On the implementation of the budget, Mohammed said the State Government has made significant achievements in critical sectors of the economy.
Governor Bala who was accompanied by his Deputy, Senator Baba Tela among other top government officials, pledged to continue to provide citizens with dividends of democracy as part of his effort to actualize the Bauchi renewal project and poverty alleviation through empowerment.
Responding, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y. Suleiman congratulated Governor Bala on the remarkable achievements recorded by his administration, saying that the House will continue to support him.
