Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has revalidated his All Progressives Congress, APC membership status and flagged-off the party’s registration and revalidation exercise across the state
The ceremony took place at the APC Secretariat, Jekadafari ward in Gombe metropolis.
Speaking shortly after obtaining his membership slip, Governor Inuwa Yahaya called on members to turn out enmasse adding that the party is welcoming anyone willing to join the APC.
“I call on all members to revalidate their membership statuses and I invite all interested people to come and join us because politics is a game of number, we therefore want everyone in the state to come out and register, our doors are wide open to all”.
He said it is only when a person registers with the party that he will be a bona-fide member and eligible to participate in its activities.
The Governor who noted that the materials brought for the exercise may not be enough for the State, but nonetheless, he expressed the belief that the party will make available more registration items to accommodate the entire party’s membership in the State.
He assured that with the enthusiasm so far shown by members of the APC in the State, the committee on membership registration and revalidation in State will not have any problem conducting the exercise.
“I pray that God Almighty will guide the members to do their job properly and I urge all our members to cooperate with them and do this throughout the 2218 polling units in the 114 wards across the 11 Local Government areas of Gombe State”.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya guaranteed the committee that the conduct of the exercise in the State will be hitch-free and that what happened in some states across the country will not happen in Gombe, describing the APC in Gombe as one big family which respects one another.
The Chairman Gombe State APC Membership Registration/Revalidation committee, Dr. Danjuma Dabo said that it became necessary to use the APC Secretariat for the kick-off of the membership Registration/Revalidation exercise by the State Governor because of crowd control in line with the covid-19 protocols and also the fact that the venue falls under the Governor’s ward of Jekadafari.
Dr Dabo said the party’s doors are open to all eligible citizens, reiterating that the registration is free of charge and without any discrimination.
He disclosed that the registration and revalidation proper at other wards and polling units in the state will commence on Wednesday, the 10th of February, 2021.
The Gombe State APC Caretaker Chairman, Mr. Nitte Amangal called on members of the APC across the State to unite and ensure the success of the exercise.
He equally warned trouble makers to stay clear of the exercise as the party will not condone any act that will undermine the process.
