In a statement on Monday, the Governor said the eminent Sheikh would be remembered for his huge contributions to Islamic scholarship and propagation, his philanthropic gestures, and his commitment to peaceful coexistence as a community leader.

“We received the news of the death of this eminence scholar with equanimity in firm belief that to God is our ultimate return. Baba bestrode his environment like a colossus.

“Many drank from his wealth of Islamic scholarship and experience, and it is our prayer to Allah to grant him al-jannah Firdaus,” the statement said.

“On behalf of my family and the government of Kwara State, I commiserate with the Hon. Commissioner for Health Dr. Raji Razaq, his siblings, the entire Osi community, and the Anwarul-Muminina family nationwide on this huge loss.

“I beseech Allah to comfort them and keep their feet firmly on the path of good guidance that the late sheikh threaded.”
