Akwa Ibom State Governor, Emmanuel Udom has ordered the commencement of distribution of another set of palliatives to residents of the state.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on MDGs, Mr Elijah Iyak disclosed this while taking delivery of trucks of palliatives from corporate Nigerians under the aegis of CACOVID.
He said the Governor ordered that distribution should commence immediately as soon as the shipment to Uyo is completed.
Iyak explained that a total number of thirteen trucks of palliatives are expected within the week, noting that so far, two trucks have been received.

While delivering the palliatives, the representative of CACOVID, Mr Emeka Nwodo said all the thirteen trucks are already heading to Uyo, and will continue to arrive till weekend. According to him, the palliatives this time around is rice bagged in 10kg bags.
Mr. Nwodo also used the opportunity to reiterate the commitment of CACOVID towards support the Government to mitigate economic constraints on Nigerians triggered by the novel Coronavirus pandemic, and other social issues in the country.
