Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, has sworn-in Charles Titiloye as the new Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice of the state.

The Governor, at the inauguration in Akure on Monday, charged the new Attorney-General to shun all corrupting influences and abide by the oath of office.

While stating that the performance of the Ministry of Justice is too important in the success of any Government, Akeredolu noted that the choice of a dynamic, vibrant personality as the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice is not only desirable, but also could not have come at a better time than now, saying his administration owes the people of the State optimum service.

He said:”The importance of this portfolio cannot be over-emphasised. It is the only office occupied by an appointee in a Cabinet mentioned in the 1999 Constitution, as Amended. It should serve as the bedrock of justice, equity and fairness. Integrity is non-negotiable.

“Loyalty to this Administration and, by necessary implication, the people of Ondo State, must not be in doubt in any manner. The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, like Caesar’s wife, must be beyond reproach.

“No serious Government should joke with the quality of the personnel who serve the people through this Ministry.

“Justice is pivotal in the development of any society. All activities of any Government must be anchored on reasoned and altruistic advisories from the experts saddled with such remarkable responsibility.

“There can be no outstanding success without quality and sustained interventions from the Ministry which interfaces among the Executive, Legislative and judicial arms of Government. Those appointed to coordinate the activities of Government owe the people a fiduciary duty. This Administration will continue to insist on it.“

Governor Akeredolu however assured of his administration’s readiness to stand by all officials who uphold the tenets of Equity and Justice, adding that it will also not fail to sanction any aberrant acts of moral turpitude.
