Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have emerged the winner of Saturday, July 16, Osun gubernatorial election.
INEC returning officer in the Election, Professor Oluwatoyin Temitayo Ogundipe, Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos made the announcement in Osogbo on Sunday morning.
Ademola Adeleke polled a total of 403,364 votes while his close rival, Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) also polled 374,827 votes.
Kehinde Atanda of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) came in at a distant third with 10,104 votes, followed by Lasun Yusuf of the Labour Party with 2,729 votes.
Adeleke won in 17local governments as against his opponent who won in 13 local governments.
The former lawmaker had in 2018 contested with the incumbent governor and lost the election to him in the rerun
