The Adamawa State Executive Council has approved a budget proposal of N225.8 billion for the 2024 fiscal year.
The expenditure proposal, tagged “Budget of Reengineering,” was approved on Wednesday during the council’s meeting presided over by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.
The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mrs Neido Kafulto, spoke on the proposal after the meeting in the Council Chambers of the Government House, Yola, saying the budget proposal was developed by the government based on citizens’ needs.
The Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mr Emmanuel Piridimso, who also spoke to newsmen, explained that N111.3 billion, representing 49.3 per cent of the proposal, was earmarked for recurrent services, while N114.5 billion, representing 50.7 per cent, is to cover capital expenditure.
Piridimso disclosed that the proposed budget will be presented by Governor Fintiri to the Adamawa State House of Assembly on Friday, December 8.
