Several passengers have been confirmed injured as an Abuja en-route Kaduna train on Monday derailed after a collision.

Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, Kayode Opeifa, confirmed the incident on Monday.

According to him, the train encountered an incident near Asham.

He explained that no person had died while filing the report; however, the injured passengers had been brought back to Idu train station for necessary medical attention.

Opeifa said NRC is currently carrying out an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the incident.
