The Oyo state ministry of environment and natural resources has sealed up the Ventura Mall for contravening environmental laws.
Officials of the Ministry of Environment told newsmen that the popular mall was sealed up on the basis of breach in some environmental laws.
Notable on offences of the mall include the discharge of “raw liquid waste water to public drain.”
Officials defined “Raw liquid waste water as untreated waste from sewage tank discharged to the public drain.”
It is believed that the heavy presence of this sewage in public drains will negatively affect public health and may affect the quality of life leading to water borne diseases.
