The PBAT Continuity Project has engaged women from the eighteen local government areas of Ondo state on the need to propagate the good works of the President in all the nooks and crannies of the state.
The move is part of effort to galvanize support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 General election.
PBAT Continuity Project is a group within the Ondo state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, drumming support for President Tinubu’s stay in government beyond 2027.
To begin its advocacy, the group decided to engage women from across the 18 local government areas of Ondo state on the need to amplify the achievements of President Bola Tinubu at the grassroots for maximum and wide acceptance in 2027.
Welcoming the women who decked in a uniform Ankara- with faze cap customised in President Tinubu’s picture, The chairman of PBAT women committee, Dr Olubunmi Osadahun stressed the need for the sensitisation to begin from the grassroots as women constitute larger percentage of the society.
One after the other, prominent APC women leaders in the state, including the first female SSG, Princess Oladuni Odu, former commissioners, Mrs Tola Awoh and Yeyeoba Bamidele Ademola-Olateju enjoined the women to reach out to more women, preaching the outstanding performance of President Tinubu to both young and old in their various communities.
In a message to the event, the minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo described the Tinubu’s administration as a winning team which should not be changed, urging the women to work in unison to sustain the current wave of development in the country.
The Director-General of PBAT Continuity Project, Pastor Femi Agagu who also addressed the gathering said women had faired better under Tinubu and must be ready to support him beyond 2027 to remain relevant in the polity.
On the readiness of the women to take the gospel of Continuity to the grassroots, the PBAT women coordinator in Okitipupa local government area, Mrs Christiana Bonameta said President Tinubu truly deserved all the support he could get from women having been magnanimous to them through various life impacting policies.
The women meeting was graced by some APC chieftains among whom were Chief Demola Ijabiyi, Hon Yemi Olowolabi, Former Commissioner for Information, Hon Isiaka Elegberunibon, Former SSA Political, Hon Laitan Ayeni, former Commissioner for Special Duties, Ismaila Olurimisi, former Commissioner for Culture and Tourism.
Others are Oluyide Mekuleyi, member, Governing Council, Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko and Asimiyu Omojola, former Chairman, Akoko North East Local Government
