Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi has commended the National Universities Commission, NUC, for ordering the closure of all universities and inter-university centres.
Presentng reported that the NUC ordered the closure of universities between February 22nd and March 14.
The Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, gave the directive following consultation with relevant security agencies.
Reacting,in a tweet on his verified handle, Obi said the decision will enable students exercise their constitutional rights.
“I heartily welcome the decision of the National Universities Commission (NUC), to close universities ahead of the 2023 general elections.
“So as to enable the students participate in the polls and exercise their constitutional rights to vote.” he tweeted.
