A five-month-old boy, Karina Anthony and seven-year-old girl, Ebiowei Rachael have drowned in flood in Ogbogbene community, Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State
According to a community source, Karina fell from the bed into the flooded water in their apartment, while Ebiowei Rachael drowned in the water in the surroundings.
A community leader, Chief Harrish Ayemi, who confirmed the incident, maintained that Anthony drowned on Sunday while Rachael died two weeks earlier.
He demanded sand filling of the entire community, lamenting that the community is regularly affected by floods.
The member representing the area in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Hon Tare Porri, commiserated with the community over the losses.
The lawmaker promised to channel their request to the governor of the state for possible action.
