The lifeless body of a 100-level student of the Taraba State University (TSU) Comfort Jimtop Oliver, has been found at her boyfriend’s house in Jalingo.
The body of the Mass Communication student was discovered in the room located at Bakasi area of Jalingo, near Dr. Rapha’s quarters, opposite the Vice-Chancellor’s gate on Friday, September 12, 2025.
Comfort, an indigene of Takum Local Government Area, was identified as a member of the Kuteb ethnic group.
The circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear at the time of filing this report but it was gathered that authorities have commenced investigations to uncover the cause.
Bottles of alcoholic drink were said to have been found beside the bed where her body was found.
The incident occurred in a compound housing 15 tenants, including Comfort’s boyfriend, Emmanuel Shata, where sources revealed that all occupants abandoned the residence immediately after the discovery
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of Taraba State Command, ASP Leshen James, confirmed the incident, disclosing that efforts were ongoing to track down the fleeing tenants and the prime suspect.
He said: “When our men arrived at the residence, nobody was found. The boyfriend and other tenants had abandoned the house.
“We are working hard to locate the boyfriend and the fleeing tenants. A thorough investigation will be carried out to determine what happened.”
